Energy Efficiency Award 2007 (English)
The Energy Efficiency Award is being granted by the Deutsche Energie-Agentur GmbH (dena) - the German Energy Agency - in cooperation with Deutsche Messe for the first time this year under the scope of the Initiative EnergieEffizienz.
The international competition highlights the importance of energy efficiency in trade and industry for the reduction of costs and the mitigation of climate change, and demonstrates the feasibility and cost-effectiveness of energy efficiency projects. The initiators of the award hope that by recognising pioneers in the field of energy efficiency they will encourage and motivate more companies to introduce energy efficiency projects.
Innovative companies from trade and industry were able to submit a successful project to increase energy efficiency for inclusion in the competition from 1 December 2006 to 28 February 2007.
The prizes were presented by Federal Minister Glos during the opening event of the World Energy Dialogue on 17 April 2007, with 10,000 euros awarded to the winner. The runners up received 6,000 and 4,000 euros respectively.
The winners:
- 1st Prize: Weidmüller Interface GmbH & Co. KG
- 2nd Prize: Paderborner Brauerei Haus Cramer GmbH
- 3rd Prize: Metro Group Asset Management Services GmbH
